No matter what you major in, your career can go anywhere you can imagine – but that doesn’t mean you already have all the knowledge you need to succeed. In today’s fast-paced business world, your education is never complete. That’s why we’ll give you a 40-question assessment when you first join Launch Compass to highlight both your current strengths and the areas where you need to improve in order to make you an ideal job candidate.

The hard skills are certainly important. Do you know how to speed read with a high rate of retention, write a pitch email to a prospective client, or navigate common collaboration software like Slack? These basics are skills that employers expect you to have that you probably didn’t learn in college. When you come to a job interview or internship already equipped with these skills, you make a great first impression and gain the confidence you need to performance at a high level.

Of course, hard skills help you do a good job, but the soft skills are what get you hired. According to LinkedIn’s 2019 Global Talent Trends report, 91 percent of hiring managers are on the lookout for potential hires with specific soft skills. While you might have some experience with time management from juggling all those credit-hours, the most desirable soft skills include creativity, the ability to collaborate with co-workers, and the ability to persuade others to adopt a certain point of view.

At Launch Compass, we recognize the importance of soft skills, and it’s why we’ve made them a central focus of our program. No matter where your career takes you, your soft skills will be there, boosting your productivity and making you a critical part of any team.
